Hostinger is one of the most affordable shared hosting providers on the market today.
They started in 2007 as000webhost.com, a free web hosting service without advertising. Then, in 2011, the Hostinger web hosting brand was born.
By May 2014, Hostinger had already surpassed the base of ten million users. As of January 2017, the base had grown to 29 million people.
That is an impressive growth in more than a decade. And the company has tons of unlimited and free features. But are all those extra benefits unlimited and free?
We’ve tested ourselves so you don’t have to, pay for a real, live plan with Hostinger. After that, we built our website and started monitoring its performance for over a year.
Want to know how good (or bad) Hostinger is? Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of this webmaster.
Benefits of Using Hostinger
Unlimited or free services mean nothing if your site can’t stay online.
Our site with Hostinger had solid times, fast speeds, good support, and more.
1) Good Uptime 99.95%
Leisure time is the most important thing to consider when considering a webmaster.
Hostinger works well in this area but has downtime drops every few months anyway (October, June and May 2019). All in all they are doing very well by keeping their websites running.
Final duration of the last 12 months:
- January 2020 average break time: 99.95%
- December 2019 average break time: 99.98%
- November 2019 Medium rest period: 99.99%
- Medium completion time for October 2019: 99.65%
- September 2019 Medium rest period: 100%
- August 2019 Medium rest period: 100%
- July 2019 Time off: 100%
- June 2019 expiration date: 99.83%
- May 2019 average rest period: 99.89%
- Medium completion time for April 2019: 100%
- March 2019 average break time: 99.94%
- February 2019 Rest period: 100%
2. Fast Upload Time – 350ms
Fast page loading times are essential to any website user experience with the site.
- Have you ever tried to open a web page to get stuck and wait for the site to load what appears to be age? We all have it. Plus, you probably didn’t stay long. If a website takes more than three seconds to load, 40% of people leave it, according to Neil Patel.
- Hostinger has servers in the USA, Asia and Europe (UK). Each is reported to be connected to a 1000 Mbps connection, which ensures that load times are stable.
- How did they go about our tests?

3. 30 Day Money Back Guarantee
Hostinger offers tons of different payment options such as Visa, Paypal, Mastercard, Discover, Bitcoin, Maestro, American Express, and JCB.
They also provide a 30-day money back guarantee. So you can try and get your money back if performance or experience is low.
Note that not all products are refundable, and some products have special refund policies, according to Hostinger Refund Policy. We will keep the details of the lower part below.
4. Multilingual customer support
Customer support can make or break a webmaster.
If your site is down for some reason and you are unable to contact the customer support ASAP, you may lose a ton of sales.
Hostinger is not disappointed. The company provides multilingual customer support team, live chat, and integrates Intercom as their main support system.
Live chat is only available if you are logged into a Hostinger account, however. (See con # 1 for more details.) We’re glad Hostinger offers live chat, but it would make a lot of sense if they offered it to everyone. Access to live chat is very easy. Once you have signed in, the icon in the lower right corner of the page.
Hostinger also has a large knowledge base with short and complete articles, and you can find guides, details and answers to questions on your own. And they have lessons (everything from website design to SEO) including gifs and how to do things.
Users can search for articles or choose between three categories based on information:
If you have a problem or just have a question you would like to ask a Hostinger customer service team, you can call employees via web chat 24/7. I found the staff to be incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and to answer my test questions with relevant links and great GIFs. Hostinger’s customer support team is the best I’ve ever met in a web hosting game, surpassing even the best GoDaddy team.
Unfortunately, Hostinger does not have phone support. If you want to connect with someone, in a web chat or an explosion. In addition, Hostinger has a large database of information that answers common (and unusual) web hosting questions. Hostinger’s plans come with a 30-day money back guarantee.
5. Free Website Builder and Domain Name
Hostinger includes free website builders (although well-known website builders are better) in their services for any program you choose. There are tons of different templates to choose from, too.
Once you have selected a template, you can customize everything on your pages using Hostinger website builder.
In addition to website builders, free domain names are also available with Premium and Business web hosting plans, which will save you a little money over time.
If you need more than one domain, you will have to pay extra. More on that later.
6. Easy to use interface
Hostinger offers a modern, easy-to-use interface where you can get everything you need in one place.
That way, you can track sign-in, update payment details, manage your domains, and view emails from your dashboard.
The control panel is not a traditional cPanel, but large icons make it easy to find exactly what you need and when you need it.
7. Unlimited Features For Premium and Business Plans
If you sign up for one of the top two Hostinger plans, you will get access to unlimited email accounts for free.
Managing those accounts directly from the control panel means that there is no speculation about spam filters, usage, and more.
8. Standard Price-Tricks But Still Cheap
Many web hosting companies improve their prices with false positives. Hostinger is one of them, but they are more obvious about it than most others.
For example, if you want to take advantage of an amazing $ 0.99 per month shared hosting deal, you will have to commit to Hostinger for 48 months. After those 4 years, your renewal costs will exceed $ 2.15 / month.
If you are willing to commit to the same web host for four years, then it is an amazingly good deal for that amount of time. It can be very cost effective compared to many other institutions.
9. E-Commerce and Security
Making money online requires commerce tools, and Hostinger has them in abundance. By going to the Hostinger store, you can download popular and useful tools such as OpenCart, PrestaShop, Simple Invoice, and ZenCart.
If you want to protect your website, Hostinger has many tools that allow you to do just that. For example, you get a free Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate with hosting plans or purchase them separately. Technology protects the connection between your website and the host computer, which is important for security (especially if you wish to sell products). You can also sign up to protect $ 19.99 Cloudflare, a technology that protects your site from DDoS attacks and other threats.
Cloud Web Hosting at Hostinger
Cloud hosting is a web hosting method where your website is powered by a variety of different servers. You can rate resources in real time, as your site is not limited to visual server problems.
Hostinger has three cloud hosting plans: Cloud Startup, Cloud Professional, and Cloud Enterprise. The level-level tier (starting at $ 29 per month, or $ 12.95 per month on a one-year commitment) comes with 3GB of RAM, 40GB of storage, and unlimited monthly data transfers. The middle-of-the-tier tier (starting at $ 58 per month, or $ 22 per month on a one-year commitment) upgrades RAM to 6GB and storage to 80GB. The high-end tier (starting at $ 130 per month, or $ 45.95 per month with a one-year commitment) has 12GB of RAM and 160GB of storage. All plans come with a dedicated IP address, a free SSL certificate, and unlimited site hosting.
That’s a good offer, but if you want really powerful cloud hosting, 1 and 1 Ionos is the way to go. Co-Editors’ Choice has plans starting at $ 0.014 per hour (for a maximum of $ 10 per month) for single-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 50GB of storage, and unlimited monthly transfers. Donations range from $ 0.486 per 16-core CPU, 48GB of RAM, 500GB of storage, and unlimited data transfers per month. There are managed and unmanaged options, as well as customized programs.
DreamHost is our Choice of Organizers Choice for very small sites that require a low-cost cloud hosting service. Its plans start at $ 4.50 per month (512MB of RAM, 100GB of storage, and unlimited monthly data transfers) and go out to $ 48 per month (with four CPU cores, 8GB of RAM, 100GB of storage, and unlimited monthly data transfer. Although DreamHost’s RAM and DreamHost RAM are not as high as that of 1 & 1 Ionos, you can choose either Linux- or Windows servers.
WordPress Web Hosting
WordPress is the most popular content management system in the world. Because of its simplicity and durability of plug-in and natural themes, WordPress is very easy to customize as you see fit – one of its main attractions.
Like many other web hosts, Hostinger has WordPress programs. Three of them, actually. Individuals, Premium, and Business. Not only do they share the same name with shared Hostinger hosting plans, but they have the same statistics, too. In other words, Hostinger’s WordPress hosting is excellent, with the exception of skimpy specs that come with a single level entry plan.
However, A2, our Editors’ Choice for WordPress Hosting, elevates Hostinger and the competition by offering three of the best WordPress hosting services – iLite, Swift, Turbo. It all includes unlimited storage and monthly data transfer.
No Web Hosting Dedicated
Dedicated hosting is one of the most powerful hosting options you will ever encounter. A dedicated hosting plan puts your website on a single server, allowing you to use the full power of the server. If you expect high traffic volume, a dedicated server is an excellent choice. Unfortunately, Hostinger does not offer dedicated hosting.
VPS Web Hosting
Virtual Private Server Hosting (VPS) is the best way to host the web you want if you are committed to building an online presence for your business. Compared to shared hosting, VPS hosting gives your website extra server resources to work with, as there are fewer websites on the server.
Hostinger has six VPS plans for Linux and four Windows-based VPS plans. The Linux tier entry level has 1GB of RAM, 20GB of storage, and 1,000GB of monthly data transfer for $ 8.95 per month (with a subscription of at least three months). The advanced Linux VPS plan includes 8GB of RAM, 160GB of storage, and 8,000GB of monthly data transfer for $ 61.95 per month (with a minimum of three months subscription).
Disadvantages of Using Hostinger
There’s a lot to like about Hostinger loading speed, overtime, support quality, and features.
Unfortunately, no complete web host exists and Hostinger, like other hosts, has some flaws. The trick is to find out what mistakes you can make and which break-breakers.
Here’s a look at all the less complete with Hostinger:
You must be logged in to access live chat
The Hostinger live chat option is only available if you are signed in to the Hostinger account.
This means that if you are not a Hostinger customer but have questions for example about moving your site to, you may not be able to speak directly with a customer service representative.
To communicate with Hostinger without logging in, click the “Contact Us” button at the bottom of their site.
No traditional Canel
Most hosting services use a traditional control panel, such as Canel.
Hostinger has created its own control panel – new users can easily find this using the traditional control panel. However, if you are used to using cPanel, you may not like their dashboard.
Therefore, advanced users may not like this feature.
Unusual Payment Terms
The Hostinger Refund Policy makes a few exceptions to their refund guarantee.
What is refunded under normal terms:
Hosting (all plans, with the exception of the first payment after the free trial)
Domain Transfers (.Eu transfers are different. EURID charges a non-refundable transfer fee. If the transfer fails for any reason, the customer must restart and pay the transfer fee. The transfer is also non-refundable.)
Do We Recommend Hostinger?
Hostinger offers excellent speed. Their rest period was slightly inconsistent 24 months ago, but on average the rest period was stronger.
Login level, the Single-Web Hosting system does not offer many unlimited benefits or free features. Premium, Cloud Hosting, and Business Web Hosting plans have a lot to offer. Hostinger also offers a 30-day money back guarantee if you are unhappy with their service.
Customer support is responsive, informative, and friendly.
We could not recommend these programs any more.
